Grapes and Watermelons

The following conversation took place between Jesse and I while standing in line for Costco pizza:
Jess: Mommy, is your baby getting bigger?
Me: Why? Because my tummy's getting bigger?
J: nods and smiles (he's trying to be tactful!!) and then says: How big is the baby now?
M: About the size of a grape...but I'm the size of a watermelon...not quite fair, huh? At this rate, I'll be the size of a house by the time I'm done with this whole thing!
J: Nooooo!
M: Well, at least the size of a car!
J: That's just nonsense!
He was far kinder than that little girl of mine!
Grace: Mommy, your tummy's getting fat...if it gets much bigger, you're gonna be like a fat person!
Me: Thanks!!!
They are right on both accounts I am getting way bigger than the last three times, Jesse just had a nicer way of stating the obvious!

that's funny...I only have ONE tactful child out of my bunch (Brayden)..so I hear it like it is all the time from the rest of them! And my kids would always point out that something else is like cantaloupes--what is it with the fruit comparison?! kids! How are you feeling this time around?

Kids say the funniest things. After my Csection I was getting out of the shower and Landon was asking to see my scar so I showed him and then he looked at me and said "Mom when is your body going to fall off?" I think I began my workout plan right then.

Aren't kids great...maybe twins...wouldn't that be fun!!! I can't believe you are going to have four...I hope you are feeling better. And I would love to have you stop at my house on the way to LA. That is if I get there myself.

When are you going to LA!? I wish you were going when we were in Cali in September...but my luck isn't that good. I can just hear Jesse and Grace say those things! We watched some of our home videos tonight with the kids...of course you and your family were in them! We watched some of the Graduation party with Jesse singing that weird song from the internet...so funny!!! We miss you guys! Your baby doesn't look like a tad pole anymore, congrats! We find out in 3 weeks what we are having... we decided to find out, so, unless the baby is shy...
I'm pretty sure it is a boy. All I think about are boy names.

I miss you guys so much. Katie can't stop asking about Grace. Hope you are feeling a bit better.

PS Do you know a Leslie Ashby (maiden name of Lake)?

all i can say is that i laughed hysterically at this and at the same time felt bad for you but it's moments like this that you just have to love because kids are so great/genuine.

I hope the morning sickness gets better fast!

And I remember thinking when I was pregnant with Maia that I sure got a big tummy quickly. So I can only imagine how it will be when there's a 4th one baking in the oven.
