We become what we want to be by consistently being what we want to become each day.

In Memory of...

The last 2 weeks!
Warning...long post to follow!
I really hate when I do this, I just get too lazy to post and now I have a lot to catch up on...so here goes, hope you can stay with me.
Mother's Day
Was lovely. I was sent to get a pedicure on Saturday (one of my favorite treats) and then on Sunday, Danny and the kids made me a yummy breakfast. Danny also helped me make dinner and made a delicious pie for dessert. Here was the spread:Sorry, didn't get any other pics, but dinner was so very yummy! Don't you love the raspberry happy face on the Lemon Raspberry pie.
Here are my little helpersIn an attempt to eat a little more healthy, I bought a bunch of veggies and came right home, washed them and cut them up. Now the kids can only have fruits or veggies for snacks. Grace and Dyl were great helpers. It took a little longer, but it was worth it.
Danny turns 35!
On the 17th was Danny's 35th birthday, now he's as old as me (for about a month, anyway!) Instead of a cake, he requested a fruit tart. I had never made one before, but I think it turned out pretty good...it was really yummy, too!As always, the kids get to help blow out the candles!
Last day of school!
Here's Jess getting off the bus for the last time for the next three months. Now what do we do!? I am looking forward to a fun, productive summer. I would love to hear ideas of some things you all are doing to keep your kiddos busy this summer. I don't want it to be wasted on TV or constantly hear "I'm bored"! What are some of your summer plans???

And just for your viewing pleasure...a photo montage!Ain't he sweet??
Okay, so that wasn't as long as I had expected...I probably left a lot out. I will be better at this!

Happy Mother's Day!

Like many of you, I have the best mom ever. She is the most fun, kind, sweet, selfless, caring, giving, wonderful woman I know. I am so grateful that I got to call her Mom. I love you and hope that you have a great day. Thanks for being the bestest mom ever!

Naturally Sweet

I have a friend in our ward that is starting up a photography business and wanted to photograph James for her portfolio. So, yesterday we went over for a shoot. Unfortunately, James was quite the temperamental little model and was too fussy, so Grace was all too happy to step in! After about an hour and a half of trying to get pics of James, we threw in the towel, and I was ready to leave. Just as soon as I got James dressed, he perked right up and was cooing and smiling, so we were able to get a few shots of him. Click here for a few shots of Grace and James. (you have to scroll down to May 5th.
Thanks, Holly, I can't wait to see the rest!

PS: I added a few posts today, so make sure you see them all!

PPS: Contrary to popular belief, I did not serve my children chicken nuggets and candy the other night when I was highly praised for the dinner put forth...FYI, I served BBQ chicken (on my new BBQ, thanks again Jamie and John!), roasted Yukon Gold potatoes (tossed with olive oil, kosher salt and rosemary...Yum) and corn (from a can...would've been better on the cob!)

Just another Tuesday

After running around yesterday, we got home, I put James down for a nap and then fell asleep on the couch. This is what I woke up to find...Ahhh! The peace and quiet...if only for a moment.
BTW, I don't know how Grace fell asleep, that looks so uncomfortable. She placed a small step stool under the front legs of the chair and leaned it back on the couch. She's quite inventive!
Later...we went outside to ride some bikes and enjoy the beautiful weather (it's been in the low 80's).Fun times.

And a sis!

Yummy!

It was a momentous occasion. The moon was in the seventh house, Jupiter aligned with Mars, peace guided the planets and lo-ove steered the stars (name the song!)
After months and months of dinner-time battles, tears and jeers on behalf of my children, these same children, unprovoked and unsolicited, said to me last night at the dinner table "this is really good." All three of them. And to make it even better, James sat in his bouncer, content until I had my last bite....doesn't get much better than that here at the Thatcher homestead! I really should've taken a picture to mark this occasion. I'm sure it won't happen again anytime soon!
