We become what we want to be by consistently being what we want to become each day.

For just one week...

Well, I did okay last week. I slipped up a few times and yelled at the kids, but all in all I did pretty well. As for the scripture studying...I did really good the first part of the week, but then I got sick and that threw me off (and up! hahaha)
So this week I am going to continue to refine my goals from last week and I am also adding one more. I have struggled going back and forth between doing a marathon laundry day or doing a load or two a day. I couldn't decide which way I liked better, plus I could never get through the process of a load a day. I would do okay for a couple of days and then it would pile up and I'd have to do the marathon. So for just one week I am going to do a load or two a day and see how it goes. I already got up and washed my one load for today, I just have to go fold it now along with baking a cake for Jesse's birthday today, making a dish for our lunch group and continue my preparations for Baby 2009. I'm tired already, maybe I'll just stay right here and waste time playing. But, no, I feel like the baby knows that we're not quite ready for him, so he won't come until I get my act together!
So that is what I am going to do for just one week! Thanks for the encouragement and advice last week...keep it coming!

you're so funny. let us know how the laundry thing goes. laundry is the absolute bane of my existence. i hate it. it is never completely done because there are new dirty clothes on a daily basis.

and every single week i have every intention of launching operation get my act together, but it hasn't quite happened yet. one of these days...

I am a huge fan of the every day laundry routine. When I'm on top of it (which means doing the load very first thing in the a.m.--love my delay start feature which means I can have it ready to go in the dryer when I get up at 6:30), I can have it put away before I have to take Bean to school and then I don't have to worry about it the rest of the day. And it means we don't have to have as many clothes because each type of load gets done a couple times a week.

I also love these "just one week goals". I've started doing them as mini goals to reach my overall resolutions and its making it so much easier to actually feel like I'm getting somewhere!

Good luck this week!

I'm with you, Poppy. Right now I'm behind quite a few loads (due to sickness as well), but I think as soon as I catch up I will try to do a load a day too. Thanks for sharing your progress.

Oh, and by the way, your feet look great!

Your feet do look great! You can do it all, didn't you know! Miss ya and happy birthday to Jesse! I did marathon wash today and Ashley stacked it all on the couch climbed on top and was 6ft tall she loved it until I started folding and told her to put it away. Miss ya. Congrats on the weekly goals, I should just try daily goals or hourly goals. Don't yell for 1 hour. HAHA, not with a new dog.

By the way, I LOVED your last post. I still can't believe your puffy feet in that picture...crazy unbelievable! So glad your feet don't always look like that...I don't know if we could even be friends!:) Did Jesse have a happy birthday?? We hope so!

all I have to say with the laundry thing is...baby steps. Last week, after 11 years of being a mom, we decided to give each kid a day for laundry. I start it, they finish it....and if they miss--well no clean clothes for them. It's never to early to teach them to do their own laundry:)
